The wind whistled shrilly as the rain came, pounding in fat, cold droplets, making the building he sat atop slippery and cool to the touch. He saw the dark spots that were people running hither and thither, all of them trying to get out of the rain as fast as they could. Why, though? The silent being atop the tower asked himself silently, staring down at the running dots. What was so wring with rain? Sometimes it was good just to stand out in the rain, sometimes thats what some people needed for symbolical reasons. Everyone was different, and yet at the same time they were the same. And superheroes were no different, especially this certain superhero.
Spider-Man sat atop the tower in the pouring rain, feeling almost new, as if the rain had washed away all the hardships, all the strain of being a superhero. It felt rather refreshing, like a nice cold drink after a day of hard working. It almost seemed to give him extra energy as if he'd just drank a couple of those Red Bull cans. Sighing deeply he repositioned himself a little bit, letting only one leg dangle over the buildings side, while bending the other leg and setting his foot softly down on the edge with his arm resting on it. The day had been a long one, with Spidey busting at least four bank robberies and having to stop two other high speed chases, which had both taken place in the crowded streets. Now that had been quite a feat, having to stop two high speed car chases AND protecting the innocent bystanders. "Jesus, people really ARE dying for a chance to be saved by me." he muttered, another one of the usual "sarcastic Spidey comments" escaping his lips.
Lifting his chin up high and removing his mask, Peter stared with his eyes closed up into the darkened sky, letting the rain fall freely onto his unmasked face, loving the coolness of the wet droplets soaking his hair and running down his face and neck. Just as he was getting ready to leap from the building he stopped, his senses telling him that someone was coming. Returning his mask onto his face quickly he sat and waited silently for the unexpected intruder.

Ms. Marvel flew atop the building in front of her. She had been saving the day from another piece of junk human. Although she said this she did not mean all the people of the world for her herself had been a simple human once upon a time. Looking at all the raindrops, Ms. Marvel, closed her eyes and flew past the top of the building. Carol opened her eyes and let herself drop to the building top. She hit it with a, now cold, fist. Ms. Marvel looked at the rooftop and then noticed someone sitting on it. Carol got into a fighting stance. Because of the rain falling from the heavens, Ms. Marvel, couldn't see who the figure was. Letting herself fly toward the person, Carol, toppled the man onto the building's ledge. Now seeing who it was, the young superhero, helped her fellow superhero up from the side of the building while saying "sorry Spider."

It had happened without warning, even though his Spidey senses had warned him that someone was nearing him. Whoever it was he did not know, his senses couldn't tell him THAT, after all. All they did was warn him before something happened, that's why he could dodge objects so well without being hit or even nicked by them. This time it happened differently though, because he wasn't paying full attention to anything but the falling rain on him, and the early hours he had to be up tomorrow. He really should get going, he thought to himself grimly, and got up to leave. Before he could take a step forwards to leap from the building it happened: Something, or someone, rather, came pelting out of the sky and knocked into him, sending him flying backwards onto the ledge of the building. Lifting his head from where he lay sprawled half on and half off of the buildings side he took a look at the unexpected guest, and recognized Ms.Marvel.
Why had she attacked him though? What had he done to deserve that? Apparently she had thought him someone else because next second she was helping him up and apologizing for the attack on the unsuspecting wall-crawler. Accepting the help up, he crouched low, waiting for any attack that might happen again. It wasn't that he didn't trust Carol, but there were always new and most formidable villains who were hatching plans to kill him and other superheroes. There were even some bad guys who could make themselves look like anyone they wanted to. Scary thing, that.
"What was that all about, Carol?", Peter asked in a calm voice, still keeping his gaze on every inch of her movements.

(( sorry for making you do that!! I wasn't thinking.)) "Oh, nothing" Carol said as she heard the question. "Another day of fighting just startled me up" she said in a convincing voice. "So, what led you to this tall building?" She asked this question while sitting on the ledge next to her superhero friend. Uh. How stupid of me. I could have knocked him off and killed him or any other person. Carol thought this to herself and then looked at Spider. Letting the rain still fall on her, Ms. marvel, stood up and asked his friend this question. "Hey, would you like to go get a cup of hot coco?" Carol looked at Spider Man and said "After we put on something else of coarse."

At her words he relaxed a bit, letting himself fall back down to a sitting position on the side of the building, turning to look out on the wet world around him. "Don't worry about it, I know what you mean. Just, try and be a little careful next time, will ya?." he said, turning his masked face again on her and laughing. He wasn't mad at her, of course not, it had just been a simple mistake and nothing to get huffy and puffy about. As Peter listened with attentive ears to her question he let a little smile play on his lips, feeling almost as if he had won a million dollars. She had asked him to a delicious cup of hot coco, that was all, but to him it was a nice shock. After all, Spider-Man didn't have many friends, only other superheroes that he chanced to meet. Like him, though, they were all very, very busy, so it wasn't often that he got to just enjoy a nice quiet evening with a friend.
"Sure, it sounds nice Carol. And anyways, one cup of hot coco wouldn't hurt anyone. Not as if crime is going anywhere but to jail anytime soon, now is it?." he said jokingly, laughing slightly at his own jest. Looking down at himself he realized that, indeed, he did need to change. it would cause a lot of attraction to them if he went as Spider-Man, and not all of it good. Plus he was soaking wet, and he didn't feel quite up to the challenge of sitting there wet for a couple hours. Getting to his feet yet again, Peter stretched a bit, then heard the satisfying and refreshing "crack" as he cracked his back. "Call me Pete, or Peter. It's not as if anyone wanting to know my true identity is lurking around. We are on the roof of a very tall building, you know." he laughed.
"How about we go to the Hotel room I have rented out so I can change?." he asked her, waiting patiently for a reply.

"That sounds great" she said as she listened to his answer. Ms. marvel had been so busy lately that she didn't get to go out much. Seeing the man that she was talking to stand up, Carol, said a few words to him. "I'll follow you." Now that there was nothing else to do on the rooftop, Ms. Marvel, flew of the surface of the very tall building. She looked over to Spider waiting for him to show her the way.

Her impatience brought a smile to his lips, though Ms.Marvel wouldn't have been able to see it. That was the best thing about wearing a mask, people looked at you and wondered what you were thinking. It also gave an air of mystery about him, and that also felt kind of nice. Knowing that people actually took interest in him, even worried about him, brought a feeling of peace about him, and in some ways it actually kept him going, gave him more strength when he needed it. He had grown up a loser all his life, and now look at him: looked up to and respected by children everywhere, loved and adored most by the parents who had had the fortune of having him around when their kids were either trapped in a burning house, or running out on to a busy street, unaware of the vehicle about to hit them.
"Hope you can keep up, Marvel, because I'll be going fast." he teased, laughing and leaping from the building. It was fun to tease, sometimes playful bantering could ease the troubles of am injured heart. "This way Marvel." he called over his shoulder as he let go of his web, kicking his feet out in front of him and sending him flying forwards, almost headlong into the side of a building. Making contact with the building he crawled on all fours up the side, then shot his web to a building fifty feet from where he crawled, jumping backwards with the web clutched tightly in his red-clothed hands, swinging out and away from the building. At last, with uncountable jumps and swings he came to a stop on all fours, crawling along the side of the building until he came to an open window near the top of the Hotel.
"Come in and make yourself at home Carol, I'm going to wash up and get changed." he didn't look around to see if she had heard him, he knew that she would have been able to keep up with him.

Carol listened to the young mans words and thought them sad. For him. She knew that she could out run or out fly him. But, she probably couldn't out crawl him. So, Ms. marvel, flew side to side and up and crossed until they finally stopped at one building were they both crawled through the window. Carol looked around and felt truly at home in this place. But, she knew she was not. Waiting for the Spider to Chang, Ms. marvel, threw her coat over herself and walked to the wall beside the room that Spider Man was changing in and asked "Hey you done yet?"
