Visiting New York (Open)

Walter Langowski; ex-NFLer, one of the leading scientists on the study of radiation, professor of physics at the Simon Fraser University in Burnaby BC (in Canada), and member of the Canadian team Alpha Flight, was in New York City, well, just for a visit. He was a pretty big man, 6'5 and about 250 lbs, mostly muscle. He had taken a ferry and was almost at the one place he had always wanted to see, the Statue of Liberty.

Walter walked off the boat and looked around. "Seems more peaceful then the city" he said with a smirk.
"Yeah, well, wait 'till ya get inside, it's a zoo" a man said as he walked past Walter. The man turned around and his eyes widened. "WALTER LANGOWSKI?" the man said in a shocked voice.
"Do I know you?" Walter asked.
"No, but I'm your biggest fan, I remember when you played football, you were amazing, why did you stop play?" the man asked
"I was just playing until I got enough money to pay for college" he said
"Your kidding right, what did you go through for, chemistry?" the man asked.
"Not quite, mostly physics and the effects of radiation on people" he said. "Now, not to be rude, but if you don't mind, I'd like to visit this place in peace" Walter said as he began to walk.
"Wait, before you go, can I get a picture with you?" the man asked.
Walter allowed the man to take a picture with him. Walter then shook the mans hand and the man thanked him for the picture. Walter just smiled and waved goodbye to the man.
"Wow, some people, I mean i didn't even play football that long, how could people think I was that good" he said as he began to walk up the stairs and was soon at the top of the Statue, and a bit out of breath. He took a breath in and looked out of the crown with a smile.

"Do you talk to yourself a lot?" Alicia asked, Must be a tourist, has some kind of accent...not sure if I can place it though.
There weren't to many people in the statue, and Alicia usually didn't go to places like this. She liked places where there weren't to many people, but, she figured she might as well visit some of the wonders of New York City.

"I've been told the view is beautiful. I saw it when I was little once." Alicia smiled happily, her Father hadn't known she had went. She could still picture the city...but, she was sure it had changed.

"You here on vacation?" Alicia could still hear him beside her, she guessed that he was a larger man, from how deep his breaths were.
Are you so desperate for normal conversation that you'll talk to complete strangers? She knew the answer was yes. She smiled again, thinking of the towers, skyscrapers and streets.

Walter kept looking out at the city. He heard somebody ask him if he regularly talked to himself. "Ya, i guess i do that sometimes" he said with a smile. He looked to his side and saw the person talking to him. "Ya, same here, I heard it is amazing" he said. The view from ontop of the Statue reminded him of the view from ontop of the CN Tower overlooking Toronto. "Reminds me of the CN Tower in Toronto" he said.

He turned around and leaned against the wall. "Ya, here from British Colombia" he said. "Been to New York a few times, but never had time to go around and visit any places" he said. "Never get time to myself anymore it seems" he said. "Either to busy teaching or research the effects of radiation" he said with a smile. Walter was never one to gloat about his jobs, he always thought they were pretty boring, and like any other time, he wasn't trying to make himself seem like a great person or man because of his career.

"A teacher? Wow, that must be nice, I'm guessing you're more of a science person, from your talk of radiation studies..." She grabbed a stray strand of hair and tucked it behind her ear.
"Well, I have to go, Nice to meet you." She tapped her cane towards the exit, calling over her shoulder, "I hope you enjoy New York!"

Walking quickly, out of habit she counted the steps down, just incase she should ever need to know how many there were.
