The Forbidden Fruit was a rather upscale gentleman's club, comparatively to the other's in it's line of work, really, it was the Hilton or Waldorf Astoria of nudie bars of New York. This was largely because the clientele of said gentleman's club were largely exclusively those making a 6 or more figure salary, and many would say it's worth it for what they offered.
With the businessmen, high powered lawyers, stock brokers to the stars, and the most prominent of prominent plastic surgeons, who had done many a work on the women working at the Forbidden Fruit, there was Hercules; the Prince of power, the Lion of Olympus, some say, the strongest man who ever lived. He was not one to wrap his lips around a bottle as he used to, he had a severe drinking problem, due in part to the society he'd grown up in, and it'd got him in more than his fair share of troubles over the year. But as he finished off the last mug of the last keg in the establishment, his arms wrapped around two scantily clad busty beauties to either side of him; telling them of his exploits in years passed, them looking him over with lustful, hungry eyes, he couldn't help but not care.
They laughed then and he continued with his tale "So then as I wrestled the putrid Gorgon hag I was shocked to find that something..well...moved...and thought perhaps I be enjoying this bout entirely too much!" it was then that he felt a hand on his arm Hey buddy! ya holdin' the ladies up from makin' their rounds! ya gonna pay em for their time or am I gonna haveta get physical witchas!?
Hercules' response was accosting and fast "Foul bald headed knave! thou dare to lay thou hand on the perfectly sculpted bicep of the prince of power!? have at thee!"
The bartender and club owner, an attractive and sultry woman, certainly more clad than the working girls of the club spoke then after Hercules had introduced the bouncer's head with the wall, sending it summarily through Not another one! you have any idea how hard it is to find muscle headed pea brains to work for pennies!?
Hercules seemed to flip a switch inside himself and returned to the jovial happy go lucky fellow, a white pearly smile playing on his lips as he brushed long auburn hair from his face and ran a hand over stubbled chin "Thou can take it out of thy tab, fair lady.."
a resounding slap was heard and both ladies jumped a bit in surprise, it was clear where he'd slapped both women. He continued then "When I return..." raising from his chair "..I shall tell thee of my satisfying of the 50 daughters of Thespius, THAT thy maidens, was a labour of a god indeed!" he stumbled a bit toward the door.
Turning and saying with a smile "But for now I must take my leave, for when nature calls, even a god must answer." as he walked through the door he thought lead to the mens room he realized he had just walked out the back door of the club and looked aorund with a confused look on his face letting out a perturbed "er.."
As he turned to walk inside he felt something hit the back of his head with a loud crunching noise, the unexpected assualt caused him to fall to his hands and knees in pain, wincing, he knew the pain of blunt metallic objects on his skull, and held the back of his head, then feeling the pain of kicks and punches all over his form, from varying shadowed figures.
Pain gave way to anger then and he erupted with it, raising and flexing and throwing his arms out with an explosion of rage and adreneline sending the figures now ganged around him flying from his power. He turned to the nearest one who stumbled to his feet just in time to attempt a sloppy swing at the Scion of Olympus, only to have said swing caught by the crowbar, in the attacker's hand; bloodied with what was obviously Hercules' blood; his other hand continuously pummeling the man with fists and elbows. As he pulled his attacker into the street light's light he realized the bloodied, bruised face of the purple masked fellow "Wrecker! foul violet varlet you and your Wrecking Crew attempt an attack on me once again! it may have worked once, it will not again!" the other members of the super villain crew attacked attempting to free Wrecker from Hercules' grasp.

Past:
A bolt of lightning struck the hammer and the loud roar of thunder was heard. The frightened people instantly jumped back from this strange crater. Like scared insects they crawled forward careful of more lightning just to get a closer look at this phenomena. With surprised eyes they stared upon the crater that once held the hammer was now empty, in its place a smoking hole.
Present:
Dr. Donald Blake awoke inside an abandoned subway train in, judging by the noise, New York City. Once, this was home to him but not anymore. Not since the Odinspell had ceased his existence and Raganarok had ended his alter egos. He groped around searching for his walking stick and found it wedged underneath a seat in the train. Using it for balance he made his way through the oddly agape door and out into the scene of New York. It was as he remembered it loud and very busy but something seemed different about it. Something he couldn't quite but his finger on.
"Well I'm out already might as well take a walk."
Down the street he went heading for some unknown destination. Maybe he was walking just to be walking again but he knew otherwise. It was the call again, the call of Mjilnor, the force that had guided him back from the void and back into the realm of existence. Hear it was again guiding lame Dr. Donald Blake to what it was he had to do.
"Now this was something I wasn't quite expecting."
He looked up at the sign that read "The Forbidden Fruit" and shook his head. Gentleman's clubs were not for him and he seriously doubted he had a task in there. But he still felt the call and he knew that he was close by. Taking an alleyway that lead around to the back of the club he beheld a frightening site. In a scramble were several tough looking man and a obviously larger man fighting each other like mad dogs. Recognition flashed in his mind as he recognized Hercules, the Lion of Olympus. Perhaps another god, however Olympian, may be want he needed to restore Asgard. Slamming his cane down on the ground the familiar roar of thunder sounded and the bold voice of Thor rang out.
"Ho Lion of Olympus! Mayhap you need help from the mighty god of thunder!"
Swinging his mighty hammer, Mjilnor, aloft he charged towards the fray eager to get back into action.

Hercules' head didn't turn in response to the familiar voice that rang in his ears of familiarity and power, the only one that could match his own voice in that manner. The familiarity in it screamed of a friend and comrade, and opponent that he knew long since dead, however he knew it not a possibility, for mighty just and valiant Thor was dead, and he knew this, no matter what the avengers said otherwise.
He spoke then "Nay Thunderer, the Son of Zeus can surely defeat such cretinous louts as The Wrecking Crew, indeed, thou can offer me no such help, thou art but a phantom, mayhaps even a figment of mine overactive imagination." He had Wrecker in a headlock and punched Bulldozer in the face.
He was having a difficult time to be honest, each member of the Wrecking Crew had super powers, every single one had super strength and together they might be enough to defeat the Hulk or some other titan, but the Lion of Olympus was too much of a warrior, to proud so SAY he'd need help, even if it were offered.
He said then jokingly and obviously teasing his old friend "Besides, I doubt thou could stand against such opponents as the Wrecking Crew, even if thou were alive and well."

Thor continued his charge daunted by his old comrades speech. Could it be that Hercules and many others truly believed he was dead. Long since gone and never going to return. He would have to prove them otherwise.
"Ha! Me, The god of thunder, a phantom. Never have I heard such nonsense. You wish to test me, Hercules, then this is your response."
Planting his feet to the ground he began to twirl his hammer faster. Eying the Wrecking crew trying to get a fix on them. Satisfied with his aim he let the mighty Mjilnor fly sending all his strength behind it.
"As for me being no match for the Wrecking Crew. You jest old friend. Never will the likes of them be the match for the mighty Son of Odin and lord of mighty Asgard!"
The hammer soared towards Hercules and the struggling Wrecking Crew, the strength of gods behind it. If this did not prove that Thor was truly alive he did not know what would.
"For The Might of Asgard!"
The hammer struck Bulldozer hard sending him crashing to the pavement. Like a living thing the hammer soared back to Thor who continued his charge. Phantom no he was the god of thunder!
"Stand Back, Olympian, and let the Son of Odin prove his worth!"

Large, hard, thunderous punches connected with the Wreckers face time and again, causing him to spit blood and teeth as he did so, every punch that connected banged, resounding like a thunderclap that would make the hulk or even his father jealous. He wrapped his arms around the man's body, fluidly moving from a headlock to a snap mare and throwing the man onto the floor with all the skill and authority and power that being a Greek god, trained by great Autolocus in the ways of greco-roman wrestling- was capable of. He kicked Wrecker at pile driver as he lay unconscious on the pavement, knock out too Piledriver.
It would seem then that the presence of the asgardian only angered the remainders, namely Thunderball, who ran at the thunder god swinging his human sized ball and chain, shouting at the very tops of his lungs, and Excavator, his shovel held over his head ready to bring it down on the Son of Odin, double Axe handle style. Hercules spoke then with a smirk "I hath taken care of thy two, would be only fair for you to take care of yours, none could say the son of Zeus is greedy or incapable of sharing." he put his arms to his waist then and watched, waiting to see if the fabled son of Odin and his old comrade was as powerful and potent as he once was.

Thor stared at Thunderball and Excavator as the ran towards him full speed. He observed the way they were charging quickly trying to find weaknesses and develop a defense strategy of his own. Gripping Mjilnor tight he planted his feet even more to the ground and positioned Mjilnor in such a manner as to deliver a uppercut to the first attacker.
"Ah mighty Son of Zeus I see that you have not lost your sense of humor. Truly you are gracious to allow me some sport with the foul wrecking crew. But perhaps still a demonstration of strength is needed to assure you of my being."
As Excavator drew nearer Thor began to stare into his eyes reading his intentions. The shovel began to come down and Thor responded by quickly delivering a fearsome blow to the jaw of Excavator with his hammer. Sending the villain flying Thor was left unexposed to the wrecking ball of Thunderball. The ball connected with Thor's exposed back and sent him flying and crashing into a brick wall at the back of the alleyway. Thunderball stepped forward gloating over his apparent victory and preparing to finish off what was left of the Asgardian.
"Foul Thunderball! How dare you strike the Son of Odin! You may have struck me once but I assure you villian that it will not happen again!"
As Thor finished his sentence a brilliant bolt of thunder arched out of the hole and struck Thunderball directly in the chest. He went flying arching through the sky only to land several yards away. Thor climbed out of the hole and charged over to wear the villain was laying. Grabbing him by the shirt he lifted him high and stared into his eyes.
"You shall rule the day you crossed Hercules, Lion of Olympus and good friend of the god of thunder. Now go join the rest of your villainous crew and make sure to spread the word of the Son of Odin's triumphant return to the realm of mortals."
With that he threw Thunderball on top of the now recovering Excavator knocking both members of the wrecking crew unconscious. He then walked over to his old friend and stretched out his hand.
"Hercules old friend it is good to see you again and so well off. Do you believe now that the god of thunder has returned?"

Hercules couldn't help but smirk with amusement as Thor had so thoroughly trounced the remainder of the wrecking crew in such a manner that only the true god of thunder could, and no other. For true, there were few who could count themselves in the same tier of power & strength as the Asgardian Thunderer. Hercules said in response strongly and assuredly "you've made me into a believer old friend." when asked if he was yet convinced that the Thunder God may in fact be who he claimed to be, for the power of Thor, there were many pretenders to the throne. Thunderstrike, Thunderstrike II, Thor II, Thor III, Thor girl, to name a few.
As he was offered a hand in friendship of his old comrade and before taking it slapped him heartily on the back in recognition of his trouncing of the villainous bastards that had dared attack him in his drunken state.
With that he took his friend's hand, in his own strong hand, then hugging him with a ferocious bear hug- hoisting him up- that bordered on homicidal as he squeezed well after hearing varying cracking noises from his friends anatomy, his herculean strength nearly enough to cause his friends head pop off like a champagne cork, He put him down then. "Apologies, after months of searching I had thought you, all asgardians..had been vanquished from some vile foe!"
He looked over the Wrecking Crew analytically and then dabbed his forehead as it's bleeding stopped he spoke then "Speaking of...I wonder who would benefit from the Wreck Crew reassembling, and this wound is far more than I'd have normally received from a cur like Wrecker...there powers have obviously been augmented..whomever has the power to not only reform these braggarts but to make them stronger than before...is a force potent as it is vile indeed."
He crossed his arms over his chest and it was several more moments of looking over the unconscious villains before they all sat up, in reverse order to how they'd been felled. First Wrecker, Bulldozer did as well, it became apparent when he rammed Hercules from behind with his block head, sending him crashing through a building. As he walked to the fallen hero his eyes opened as Bulldozer lifted him by his shirt, boxing his ears with two powerful palms and punching him several times the two began to trade blows.
He shouted then to Thor "stand fast Thunderer! it seems in their resurrection they've more power than ever!" As the Wrecker jumped at him, Hercules narrowly ducking his crowbar, which met with Bulldozer's head knocking him off balance and sending him staggering back slightly. Hercules took advantage of this moment of weariness by sending a powerful punch at the villain, sending him, ironically, through the same wall Bulldozer had sent Hercules minutes ago.
That done Hercules and the Wrecker again began to battle, Hercules couldn't help but notice Wrecker seemed at least ten times as strong as he was when Hercules had knocked him out moments before. He didn't let his eyes deviate from the battle, but he could hear Piledriver, Thunderball and Excavator get up from the rubble they were covered in with renewed strength.

Thor headed Hercules and turned to face the now rising Thunderball, Excavator, and Piledriver. He eyed them up and down looking for any visual source for their renewed strength. This was not the wrecking crew he was used to facing. They could never have regained their strength so quickly. In fact from the looks of Hercules's struggle their strength had been multiplied ten fold.
"By what foul enchantment is this? The Wrecking crew could never do this alone. I shall stand fast, Hercules, but how are we to beat a foe that grows stronger with every felling?"
Thor began to twirl his hammer creating a massive whirlwind to suck up the villians now rising from the rubble. Piledriver jumped out of the way as the whirlwind crashed into Thunderball and Excavator sending them flying into the air. Charging at a speed that even suprised the thunder god, Piledriver raised his fist to strike. Thor was struck hard and flew across the alley hitting the pavement with a thud.
"Truly their strength has grown ten fold. But still they are no match for a god."
Raising Mjilnor aloft, Thor called upon the odinforce to strike down Piledriver and the now rising Thunderball. Tapping into the limitless magical and cosmic energies of Asgard herself he unleashed them upon his hapless foes. Lacking the power to kill, by Thor's choice, Piledriver was sent flying into Thunderball makign them both collapse motionless. Looking for Hercules he called out.
"Hercules we will not be able to hold fast against these enchantments for long. Mayhap even gods should withdraw."

Hercules had been struggling with the Wrecker the entirety of the time that Thor had felled the other three. He had managed to overpower the villain physically and using his incredible technical wrestling ability he was now choking the Wrecker with the round of his own magical crowbar, wrecker letting out sick, gagging noises as his mouth shot of saliva and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. The temper of Hercules, a temper of mythic proportions; took over and he released him and shouted "GIVE THY REGARDS TO PLUTO CUR!" the devastating right uppercut he'd hit the Wrecker with sent him rocketing off the ground into the sky until he was no longer visible, literally, like that of a rocket.
In all likelihood, he'd just knocked Wrecker well out of Earth's orbit. It was then that Bulldozer had come to and came running at him like a rhino, or his namesake. Hercules ducked down, at the very last second, sending Bulldozer head over heels, his gathered momentum sending him skidding along through several buildings. He spoke then "I say thee nay son of Odin, for the Scion of Olympus knows not the meaning of the word withdraw...perhaps it is not we whom need to retreat." obviously cuing Thor to use his powers to create a portal of sorts to send the wrecking crew to some place wherein they can do little to no harm. He walks up behind The Bulldozer as the villain begins to get up, getting him in a rear choke hold, the villain squirming under his mighty grasp.
