Tandy entered the theater, forcing smiles at the cast and the dancers. She looked like a mess and she was still shaking.
How could things have gone so wrong so fast? She went into the ladies room and threw up. She didn't know what Cloak thought of her, it must look like she tried to hurt him. She'd flung the dagger callously, as if she didn't think anything of him or didn't care about him. And then...something had gone wrong.
Gabriel. Why had he done that to them?
Tandy crossed her arm, trying to keep from crying. Suddenly she was on edge and so very scared. How could she control her dark impulses without her light? Would she hurt people? Would she lose herself completely?
She tightened her jaw and went to her locker and pulled out a clean pair of clothes. She changed, brushed her teeth, and washed her face.
As she did, she noticed the circle around her eye was gone. Normally she covered it in make-up but there was nothing there. Another change.
Tandy smoothed her blond hair normally straightened in the morning, now curly and untamed, into a high pony tail and quickly applied some lip gloss.
She exited the bathrooms and took her seat in the theater, close to the front to keep an eye on her dancers. She took some deep breaths, listened the crowd go silent as the curtain opened.
This was going to be a long night.

Alicia sat down, keeping her purse strap safely wrapped around on ankle as she settled in. The woman next to her was taking deep breaths, as though she was trying to calm down. "Are you alright?" Alicia whispered, feeling deep turmoil in the woman beside her. Alicia didn't know if the woman nodded, or didn't hear or was ignoring her. But, the music began playing, and Alicia closed her eyes and listened to the flowing music, which a narrator spoke over. Explaining the plays view of life. Alicia smiled, the story was dark in places, but funny in others. Still slightly troubled at the stress in the woman beside her, Alicia couldn't fully focus on the play. But, she hoped to speak to the woman after the play. Maybe all she needed was someone to listen.

Tandy smiled slightly at the young blind woman. "I'm okay. Thanks for asking."
Tandy wished it wasn't so obvious. She wasn't great at deception though.
She watched the last scene, the happy-ending wedding with the new family that had started out as strangers and outcasts and the final salute to loyal Smike.
Then the final dance number, a jubilant wedding dance perfect choreographed to show the fun and happiness and also mimic the dances of that period. Hanae of course missed her que every single time and was constantly off.
Tandy shook her head. She'd warned her. Hanae would probably be fired.
The cast bowed and the theme song played and the theater rose to applaud.
It was a classic story. Good vs Evil. Have vs. Have-nots. Emotionally gripping and draining.
It didn't translate perfectly to a musical format but it was fun to watch. All in all, Tandy thought, not a bad show to have on your resume.
She turned to the woman next to her. The other woman seemed to be lost in thought and a little sad.
"Hey, do you want to come back-stage?"

"I would love too. I assume you had a hand in the production?" Alicia smiled, she had loved the sound of the Musical. And she really had enjoyed the voice of the boy who had played Smike, she thought it might be nice to speak to the talented people who had put the play together.

"Yes," Tandy shrugged. It didn't seem as important as it had earlier. "I'm Andy Bowen. Nice to meet you. We've worked really hard to get this up and running." She hesitated, "Would you like me to lead you back-stage or..."

"Yes, I'll need a little help if you don't mind. Alicia grabbed her purse and her stick, reaching out for an arm to help her. The noise of all the people prohibited her from being able to tell where things were, and she didn't want to trip anyone up, swinging her stick to find where she was going. Alicia listened to all the people for a moment. Wishing again that Ben had come with her. But, he wasn't much for such things anyway. "So, what is you handy work in this very impressive show?"

Tandy laughed, taking the woman's arm and leading her up the ramp to the stage. "Well, it would be the part you weren't able to enjoy. I'm in charge of the dancers. But on the positive side you missed Hanae's constant mistakes."
Tandy introduced Alicia to one of the higher ups, Mr. Freth. She would have avoided him but he wasn't exactly the avoidable type, and he was the first person she saw.

"Hello, Mr. Freth. I'm Alicia Masters." Alicia held out her hand to shake his, and couldn't help but smile at Tandy's anger at her one dancer, Alicia wondered if it would have bothered her if sh had been actually watching the play. Alicia hoped she wouldn't have to talk to this man very long...

Before Freth could open his mouth to make some comment about the woman's appearance - which Tandy knew was his first order of business when starting a conversation - the lights in the the theater flickered violently spraying golden sparks over the cast.
"Alicia!" Tandy grabbed the woman, covering her body with her own. The heavy curtain fell down in crimson and gold glory as it caught fire.
"Stay calm!" Tandy shouted, guiding the woman off the stage. The light sputtered again, this time failing and the entire theater went dark. Gasps and wild stumbling happened all around them.
Her heart pounded. Tandy called light to her fingers, hoping for a soft glow to guide her. Nothing.
She remembered...Gabriel... Tandy's eyes widened. She was just a human now...she hadn't even considered that when she rushed for Alicia. "The lights are out...And there's no light from the streets...we have a serious black-out of some kind..."
Gabriel, He was the only one who could steal light so completely.
Tandy tightened her jaw. She dragged Alicia into the ladies bathroom, knowing where it was by memory. Rummaging in her locker by feeling only, she found her uniform. It was clean and perfectly pressed, unused and forgotten.
After she changed, she pulled her cellphone open and called her best-friend. It was time to make Gabriel pay.
"Cloak?"

It had been hard to find her. Her light must have been masked by something. But, still, in the darkness, there was something slightly different about her. After scanning the city, he saw her. He came in through a shadow, and dropped to her side. The strawberry blond at her side meant little to him. He looked around the Lady's room, the pitch black didn't bother him. Tandy was dressed in her Uniform, He grabbed her arm. "I am not here to talk to you. You said you needed help. I came. Nothing more." He noticed she was just as bright as a human soul, the slight difference so weak, he was surprised he had noticed at all.

Alicia wouldn't have known that there was a black out. But, she could sense the fear in Tandy, with a deep breath, Alicia just stood by and waited. She didn't know where the man had come from, he just suddenly was there. Alicia assumed, once again, she was mixed up in Heroes stuff. Keeping silent, she listened to the Two talk.

"I need your help, Ty." Tandy said, shoving her curls out of her face and into a hair-band. "I know this black-out is from Gabriel. I can just feel that's there's something strange and alive about the lack of light. Since you can detect all light, I need you to help locate him."
Tandy paused and put a hand on his shoulder. "Thanks for coming, I couldn't do this without you and I am sorry. I've been a jerk and I don't know how to make it up to you."

Cloak shrugged her hand off, he wasn't going to let her do this again. "You can't. You tried to kill me. You left. You know I'm not one to easily forgive." He nodded towards Alicia, "She stays here. I can not take her into the fray, she would die in my cloak." He looked back at Dagger, would she survive? She didn't seem normal, no, that's wrong, she seemed perfectly normal. He couldn't risk taking her either. "I'm going to the roof to begin my search." Cloak wasn't going to accept her apology, she didn't mean it. She would run off as soon as he wasn't needed any more. And if he didn't stop being angry at her, it wouldn't hurt as much. Hopefully.

Tandy nodded. "Good idea." She hurried to the stairs and began to climb. She was trying to find the perfect words for..."I'm not a mutant anymore, I don't have any light, I can't really help you much, it's the right thing to do, I hope I don't die, I hope you don't think I'm useless and by the way, your acting really immature - let's go save New York."
Somehow that was hard to say in a way that wouldn't offend and irritate. So she smiled instead. "Are you coming?"

Cloak was already on the roof. He had went through the shadows that now enveloped the city. He didn't even know Dagger was climbing the stairs at that moment. He looked around, slowly, something was glowing...something far away, and so bright that he couldn't miss it. Cloak wondered if he should bother to wait for Dagger...he began floating off the roof top, looking quickly into the building to see if Daggers light was close, or if she was going to take for ever. The door opened to the roof, and answered his question.
